The Elf has arrived...

Well, Miracle the Elf arrive at 2018 this week. And things have gotten exciting!
First of all Kira has been wondering and asking when the elf will arrive and I've had to say that he's pretty busy so you just never know.
Well, when he showed up one morning she just about couldn't contain herself. She immediately started talking to him and letting him know that she needed to get ready for school, but after she got home she would be ready to sit down and have a chat with her. You know, she had to let her in on EVERYTHING that has happened thus far in the year since Miracle has been at the North Pole instead of here.
So the elf flew back for a few days.....and then the elf got a little too busy.....and somehow "forgot" to fly back to the North Pole one night this week. Busted. Dang it.
So I had to let the kids know that it was too cold to fly in the middle of the night so Miracle was wanting to stay where it was warm. Whew, they were ok with that....but very concerned that nothing was relayed to Santa on that day.
You would think that Evan is too little to understand anything that is going on, but he's not. This morning he went right to the door where the elf had been hanging out and pointed up and said "uh o mommy!" Over and over again and sticking out his bottom lip like he was going to cry. I had to reassure him that the elf flew in the night to a different place and he had to go look for her. Well, as soon as he heard that he checked the rooms upstairs and then headed downstairs where he saw the elf sitting in the curtains reflected in the mirror. After that he was all smiles.
Pretty neat to see them getting all excited over a really ugly little elf....but honestly seeing them so excited is part of the magic of the season.

We have an Elf at our house too! So much fun! I'm managed to only forget to have him report back to Santa one night so far.
